Did a light edit on this one. I originally posted this and felt it was too muddy and dull-toned for those fantastic colors. I like this better. An it’s as I remember seeing it. It’s a super cool wall.

I need to go out and shoot more photos this weekend. I think I’m going to set my D850 to monochrome mode and shoot exclusively through vintage manual focus glass. I have a 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4 and a beefy rare 80-200 f/2.8 push-pull zoom. Never shot anything except test shots with any of these with the exception of recent shots in Denton using the 50mm.

Originally, I photographed this through a large, g

Originally, I photographed this through a large, glass goblet tinted a beautiful rose hue. I shot through that imperfect (hand-blown?) glass into the overhead light. The color temperature of the lights shining through must have taken priority with the auto-white balance setting I had dialed in. I can easily fix that in post as white balance is an in-camera adjustment of the true captured RAW file.

So I did. I slightly dialed down the temp, and slightly up on hue. I was guesstimating to just bring out the hue in my memory. The results are a totally different vibe, I think. I’m a sucker for abstract imagery. And this is exactly what I envisioned when I shot the image.
